1) Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Perfect Resume website, browser extension, applications, and related content and services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2) Eligibility

18+ only. The Service is intended solely for individuals 18 years of age or older. If you are under 18, do not use the Service.
Your obligations. You are responsible for complying with all laws where you use the Service and for the accuracy and truthfulness of any career information you submit.

3) Accounts & Security

Most features require an account.

Accuracy. Provide accurate, current information when registering and keep your account information up to date.
Security. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
One account per person. Accounts are for individual use; do not share login credentials.
Termination. We may suspend or terminate your account or access at any time, with or without notice, including for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or misuse.

4) Processing and Storage of Your Resume Content (Important)

The core of the Service is analyzing and tailoring career materials. By uploading, pasting, capturing via the browser extension, or otherwise submitting resume content, job descriptions, or related information to the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

We process and store your content on our servers. This includes the personal data contained in your resumes and inputs - such as your name, contact details, employment history, education, skills, certifications, projects, achievements, and any other career information you provide.
Processing is necessary to provide the Service. Without storing and processing this content, we cannot deliver the tailoring, analysis, version history, master-profile, and re-use features you signed up for.
AI processing is involved. Your content and the relevant job description are processed by AI models - both our own systems and third-party AI providers under contracts that prohibit them from using your content to train their general-purpose models.
We do not sell your data. We do not sell, rent, or license your personal CV data to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
You retain ownership. You retain ownership of the original content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, and transform that content as needed to operate the Service for you.
You authorize the data you submit. You confirm that any personal data you upload is yours to share, or that you have authorization to share it (for example, contact details of a professional reference).
You can delete your data. You can delete individual items or your entire account from your account settings at any time, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5) Paid Features; Pricing & Changes; Cancellation

Pricing & taxes. Pricing for paid features (such as Premium plans) is displayed at purchase and may vary by region, platform, promotions, and applicable taxes/fees. We may change prices, with legally required notice where applicable.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. You can cancel at any time via your account settings (or, for app-store purchases, via the app store's subscription settings). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Payment processing. Payments are handled by third-party processors; we do not store full payment card details.

6) Refunds & Right of Withdrawal

We aim to minimize friction while complying with mandatory consumer-protection laws:

General rule. Except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout, fees are non-refundable, and partially used periods are not prorated.
Platform purchases. If you purchased via a platform (e.g., Apple App Store / Google Play), that platform's refund policies control; request any refund through the platform.
Statutory rights (examples). If your local law grants a cooling-off/withdrawal right for digital services (e.g., certain EEA/UK residents), we will honor it as applicable - subject to lawful exceptions (for example, if you requested immediate access and acknowledged losing the withdrawal right).
Non-conformity. If the Service is unavailable or non-conforming in a way that triggers non-waivable legal remedies where you live, we will provide the remedy required by law (which may include repair, replacement, or refund).
How to request. For direct purchases from us, email contact@perfect-resume.ai with your order email, date, and reason. For platform purchases, contact the platform.

Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable law; where local law is more protective, it controls.

7) AI-Generated Output; Your Responsibility to Review

The Service uses artificial intelligence to analyze, rewrite, and generate career documents. You acknowledge and agree that:

AI output is not perfect. Generated content may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, awkward phrasing, missing information, or content that does not reflect your actual experience.
You must review every document before use. Before submitting any tailored resume, cover letter, or related document to an employer or platform, you are responsible for carefully reviewing it for accuracy, completeness, and truthfulness.
No fabrication. You must not submit applications containing fabricated experience, credentials, employers, or achievements. The Service is designed to reframe and customize your real history, not invent new history. If the Service ever produces content that misrepresents your background, you must correct or remove it before submitting.
No guarantees of outcomes. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, salary increases, or any specific career outcome. Hiring decisions involve many factors outside our control, including the quality of the job match, the recruiter's judgment, market conditions, and competition.
Methodology disclosures. Where we describe how recruiters or applicant screening tools work, we share our best understanding to help you make informed decisions, but practices vary widely across companies and tools.

8) Third-Party Sites and Job Postings

Job posting capture. The browser extension and URL ingestion features let you capture job descriptions from third-party sites (such as LinkedIn, Indeed, company career pages, and other job boards). You are responsible for complying with the terms of use of those sites.
No endorsement. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, or legality of third-party job postings or platforms.
Your relationship. Any application, communication, or transaction you conduct with employers, recruiters, or job platforms is between you and them - not Perfect Resume.

9) Privacy & Cookies

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy (data practices) and Cookie Policy (cookies/trackers), each incorporated herein.

10) Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service if under 18; (b) violate any law; (c) access accounts or data without authorization; (d) interfere with or disrupt the Service or impose unreasonable load; (e) deploy malware, automated scraping, or similar without permission; (f) submit unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or fraudulent content; (g) use the Service to fabricate credentials, qualifications, or work history; (h) reverse-engineer or attempt to derive source code except where permitted by law; (i) resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its outputs in ways not expressly permitted. We may investigate and take action, including content removal, feature restrictions, or account termination.

11) User Content & Feedback

In addition to resume and career content (covered in Section 4), if you submit reviews, comments, testimonials, ideas, suggestions, or other content ("Feedback"):

License. You grant Perfect Resume a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, translate, distribute, and display such Feedback in connection with the Service and our business (including marketing) in any media.
No obligation. We may, but are not required to, act on Feedback you provide, and we owe you no compensation for it.
Your promises. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant the license above and that your Feedback complies with applicable law.

12) Intellectual Property; Limited License

The Service (including software, AI models we own, text, graphics, logos, and trademarks) is owned by Perfect Resume and its licensors and protected by IP laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial career-related purposes. No other rights are granted. You retain ownership of your own resume and career content, as described in Section 4.

13) Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PERFECT RESUME DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR FREE OF BIAS.

14) Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PERFECT RESUME AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, AI-GENERATED OUTPUT, OR THIRD-PARTY SITES.

IN NO EVENT WILL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF US $100 OR THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO PERFECT RESUME (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where prohibited, the limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

15) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Perfect Resume and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: your use of the Service; your violation of these Terms; your violation of law; the content you submit (including any misrepresentations in materials submitted to third parties); or your unauthorized use of third-party data.

16) Changes to the Service & Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service (in whole or part) and update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the Effective Date or by additional notice where required by law. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

17) Dispute Resolution - Arbitration (Washington; FAA); Class Waiver

Please read carefully - this affects your rights.

Governing law. Except as preempted by the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act ("FAA"), these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Informal resolution. Before filing a claim, email contact@perfect-resume.ai with a brief description of the dispute and your contact information. We will try to resolve it within 30 days.
Arbitration. If not resolved, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, as modified by this Section.
Seat, venue, language. The seat of arbitration is King County, Washington; any in-person hearing occurs in Seattle, Washington; proceedings are in English.
Individual basis only. No class actions or class arbitration. YOU AND PERFECT RESUME AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, REPRESENTATIVE, OR PRIVATE-ATTORNEY-GENERAL PROCEEDING.
Small-claims option. Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court in King County, Washington instead of arbitration.
Fees & costs. AAA rules govern payment of filing, administration, and arbitrator fees. We will consider good-faith requests to reimburse reasonable fees if your claim is not frivolous.
Severability. If the class waiver in 17(5) is found unenforceable, this entire Section 17 is void, and the dispute will proceed in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington.
Opt-out. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing contact@perfect-resume.ai with subject "Arbitration Opt-Out," your full name, and your account email within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
Injunctive/IP relief. Either party may seek temporary or preliminary injunctive relief in court to protect rights pending arbitration (e.g., misuse of IP, unauthorized access).

18) DMCA / IP Notices

If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, email contact@perfect-resume.ai with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work and the material claimed to be infringing; (b) your contact information; (c) a statement of good-faith belief; and (d) a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act.

19) Export & Sanctions

You agree to comply with all applicable U.S. export control and sanctions laws and not to use the Service in or for the benefit of embargoed countries or prohibited parties.

20) Electronic Communications; Notices

You consent to receive communications from us electronically (e.g., email, in-product messages). Legal notices to Perfect Resume must be sent to the address above and to contact@perfect-resume.ai.

21) Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

22) Entire Agreement; Severability; Waiver; Language

These Terms (including policies incorporated by reference) constitute the entire agreement between you and Perfect Resume regarding the Service. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. English is the controlling language; translations (if any) are for convenience only.
